Legislation states that each Australian business must regularly test their appliances and electrical equipment to ensure it is safe. This is called testing and tagging. A test and tag must be undertaken by a qualified tester, though unfortunately not necessarily a qualified electrician. Upon discovering a fault, a regular tag and tester does not have the necessary qualifications to identify what that fault is and how to fix it.
At Crown Electrical Services, our highly experienced and qualified electricians do all of the testing & tagging themselves and are on the spot to identify what the fault is, as well as the quickest and most affordable repair solution for your business.
Every business has an obligation to ensure that employees have a safe workplace free from hazards to work in. By having regular testing and tagging done by our team, your workers and visitors will be safe from injuries caused by portable electrical equipment.
To receive OS&H risk management documentation, you need to have your workplace tested and tagged. This documentation can help you to achieve lower insurance premiums from your insurance company, saving your business money.
When our registered electricians visit your workplace to test and tag, they will undertake a series of checks. These include a visual inspection and electrical testing of insulation resistance, leakage current testing, polarity and earth resistance. We attach a test tag to each appliance stating the result of the test, the date of the test and retest date, along with the name of the tester. There also must be an asset register which contains all the items tested and their results, as well as a record of all of the test results, including the faulty items and the action taken to repair them.
