Unplug every appliance in the home, garage and shed. This includes the refrigerator, dishwasher, range hood, outdoor equipment, kettle, toasters and all other electrical appliances around your home.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you remove the plug from the power point, not just switch off the power point at the switch with the 3 pin plug still connected to the power point.
Turn the safety switch ON after you have completed step 1. Plug in and then turn on each appliance, one at a time. The safety switch will trip off if a faulty appliance is plugged in and turned on.
If your safety switch will not turn back on after step one is completed, you may have a fault in your wiring system.
Contact Crown Electrical Services to assess the situation. As the fault may be isolated to a particular circuit, switch off all circuit breakers and turn the safety switch ON.
Switch each circuit breaker on, one at a time. The safety switch will turn off when the faulty circuit is turned on. This will restore power to the area of the house without a fault, while you wait for your electrician.
